Hi there.
I'm Andrew Whitesell. I'm a full-stack web developer who likes to make things.
I first became interested in computers at an early age when my parents bought our first family computer, an Epson Equity I, in the late 1980s. I went on to make my first website in 1997, a small cartoon fan site hosted on the crosswinds server. In 2003, I attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, where I studied Information Technology: New Media, which was renamed to New Media: Interactive Development.
Currently, I am the web developer for the Smithsonian Institution Archives. Occasionally I write for the Archive's blog, "The Bigger Picture," often using humor to help break down highly technical concepts.
In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, writing, woodworking, and gardening.
